A teenager was stabbed to death outside a McDonald’s this afternoon.
Officers were called to reports of a 16-year-old who was found with serious injuries on Thursday at around 3.30pm, West Midlands Police said.
Police sealed off the town centre of Sutton Coldfield after the incident and despite the efforts of paramedics the teenager was declared dead at the scene.
A witness said the area was ‘notorious for gangs’ and a murder investigation has been launched by West Midlands Police.
A statement from the force said: “A murder investigation is underway after a 16-year-old boy has died following a stabbing in Sutton Coldfield this afternoon.
