The 24-year-old underwent a medical in Paris after club medical staff flew out on Thursday following a breakthrough in negotiations.

We understands a second opinion was sought on a knee issue but those fears were eased, meaning the path has been cleared for the midfielder to potentially become the club’s second most-expensive signing after Virgil van Dijk.
