Arsenal has officially sold their midfielder today after the recent news and rumors of him leaving the club during the winter transfer windows.
Arsenal and Valencia have officially announced that the French midfielder, Francis Coquelin, has left the Premier League side, Arsenal FC, to join the La Liga side, C.F. Valencia on a four years contract with the Spanish club.
Francis Coquelin, 26 years old, has joined Arsenal almost 12 years ago, back in 2006, and he played 160 matches with the Gunners, 105 of them were in the Premier League, and he couldn’t score with Arsenal during his time at the Emirates Stadium, but he won two FA Cups with Arsenal, last season 2016/2017, and two years ago back in the season of 2014/2015.
Francis Coquelin will join his former Arsenal teammate, Gabriel Paulista, who left during the summer to Valencia as well and Francis Coquelin will be playing until 2022 with a release clause of 80million Euros.
Arsenal has sold Francis Coquelin to C.F. Valencia for around 10.5million British Pounds, and now Arsenal will be left out without a defensive midfielder other than Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka whose form isn’t good for Arsenal at the moment.
Arsene Wenger has confirmed yesterday that Arsenal won’t buy a replacement for Francis Coquelin at the moment, but they will wait for Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey to return from the injuries first. Knowing that Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil are attacking midfielders who even play as wingers, and Francis Coquelin is a defensive midfielder.
