Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo spoke with Lionel Messi about the crisis at Barcelona yesterday, it has been revealed.
Both stars were in Monaco for UEFA’s Best Player award, which Ronaldo collected after guiding Real to a LaLiga and Champions League Double this year.
Don Balon says Ronaldo spoke with Messi during the ceremony, expressing his concern for the Argentine.
The Portuguese told Messi that no-one inside the Real locker room regard Barca as genuine title challengers and also expressed concern about how his career could end if he remained.
With the Catalans struggling in the transfer market and losing Neymar this summer, Ronaldo told Messi he needed better players around him and there was a real danger of his career fizzling out if things did not improve.
While remaining great rivals, Ronaldo and Messi have become more respectful of eachother in recent years.
