Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is set to make a huge decision over the future of Antonio Conte at the Stamford Bridge and he is considering the Club’s next managerial appointment, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish outlet Marca claims that Conte’s relationship with the Russian billionaire has deteriorated as he is no longer on speaking terms with Abramovich and all communications are going through Marina Granovskaia, a director who plays a large part in the team’s transfer business.
The transfer handling of Diego Costa by Conte has not gone down well with the Chelsea board which has stressed up the relationship between the manager and Abramovich, according to the report in Marca.
Abramovich considered Conte’s actions disrespectful after the manager sent a text message to the striker informing him he is no longer part of his first-team plans.
Marca claims that the search has already begun for Conte’s successor and the 48-year-old is fully aware of Chelsea’s plans.
Conte signed a new contract with Chelsea in July after winning the Premier League title in his first season at Stamford Bridge, but the new deal did not extend beyond the summer of 2019.
