Chelsea have joined the race to sign Arsenal target Thomas Lemar.
The Gunners are expected to renew their interest in the winger when the January transfer window opens but would face competition from Chelsea.
Wenger tried to bring Lemar to the Emirates all summer but the manager was unsuccessful. A deadline day £92m bid wasn’t enough to get the deal over the line in the summer but we’ve reportedly remained interested in the winger.
With the January transfer window fast approaching, Lemar has been linked with Arsenal again. Although Wenger hasn’t confirmed if he’d make a move or not but a report in the Telegraph is claiming we will face competition from Chelsea.
According to the report via the Daily Star, Chelsea are prepared to use Michy Batshuayi as a makeweight to sign Lemar.
Lemar’s versatility appeals to Antonio Conte and the Italian is prepared to use the French man in a false nine role if Batshuayi heads the other way.
What this means for Arsenal is that, there is added competition for Lemar’s signature.
Liverpool are also said to be interested while Barcelona hold a long standing interest in the 22 year old.
