The Super Eagles of Nigeria have Dropped Six Places in the FIFA Ranking
Despite the impressive 4-0 drubbing of Cameroon, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped six places in the FIFA Ranking released on Thursday, September 13.
– The Super Eagles of Nigeria are now 44th in world football and fifth in Africa.
In the month under review, the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Uyo, beat Cameroon 4-0 in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Friday, September 1 before getting a 1-1 draw away in Yaounde in the return leg.
Despite the impressive win and away draw, the Super Eagles dropped six places in the latest FIFA Ranking from 38th to 44th in world football.
The Super Eagles are now fifth in Africa behind Egypt (30), Tunisia (31), Senegal (33) and Conge DR (42).
Cameroon (45), Burkina Faso (49), Ghana (52), Cote d’Ivoire (54) and Morocco (56) make up the top 10 in Africa.
Super Eagles next opponent in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Zambia are 78th after moving up 18 places.
In world football, Germany overtake Brazil to become the number one country in football with the former leaders now number two.
Portugal, Argentina and Belgium make up the top 5.
Poland, Switzerland, France, Chile and Colombia complete the top 10.
