5. Flavour Nabania
Chinedu Okoli (born 23 November 1983), better known by his stage name Flavour N’abania or simply Flavour. Flavour, who is well known for his ability to sing fluently in the Igbo language, was born in Enugu State, Nigeria. His family is originally from Umunze in Orumba South LGA, Anambra State, Nigeria. Flavour began his music career at the age of 13 when he started playing the drums for his church choir in Enugu. In 1996, Flavour was invited to join a company on an educational scholarship to study music. After three years of playing the drums, Flavour started playing the drums professionally. In 1999, Flavour moved on from playing the drums and started playing the keyboard. He also used to provide backing vocals for other musicians at SoundCity.
Flavor definitely worth a place in this list if not higher than number five best singer in nigeria.
Simisola Ogunleye, a.k.a Simi, is no stranger to the Nigerian music industry. She wrote her very first tune at the age of 10 and started out singing and dancing in her early teens as a member of the teenage church choir. Eventually, she went on to launch her debut album in 2008, which was produced by Samklef. The album spawned hits such as Ara Ile, Ogaju, Iya Temi, to name a few.
Simi has proven to be a very good and talented vocalist with an amazing voice ever since she came into spotlight in 2014 after she released “Tiff”. Nigeria’s music industry accepted her kind of music and voice. Simi is really a wonderful singer, I think she’s worthy of the No. 4 spot on the list.
3. Tiwa Savage
Tiwatope Savage-Balogun (born 5 February 1980), better known by her stage name Tiwa Savage, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, performer and actress. She signed a recording contract with Mavin Records in 2012. Savage also signed a management and publishing deal with Roc Nation in June 2016.
